BCCI released the full schedule for the T20 series vs Australia and the limited overs matches vs South Africa set to take place in September 2022. India’s international home season 2022-23 will commence with a three-match T20I series against Australia in September and will be followed by a three-match T20I and ODI series against South Africa. Mohali will host the first T20I against Australia with Nagpur and Hyderabad hosting the second and third respectively. The home series against South Africa will begin in Thiruvananthapuram. The second T20I will be played on October 2, 2022, Gandhi Jayanti, to mark the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi at Guwahati, followed by the last T20I at Indore.

The action will then shift to Lucknow on 6th October where the ODI series will get underway. Ranchi and Delhi will host the second and third ODI respectively.

Check out the schedule here:

These ODI and T20s will serve India better in the pursuit of ascertaininh the squad for the T20 World Cup 2022. Australia and South Africa too will be treating the away series in India as a preparatory tour of the mega event. Australia are the defending champions in the T20 World Cup and would be eyeing to defend the title in their backyard. South Africa, on the other hand, have never won any ICC tournament but they are one team who are in very good form at the moment.

Hopefully, India will do away with their experimentation in this series vs Australia and Proteas. These days with KL Rahul missing, India have been trying different options. In away T20 series vs England, India tried Rishabh Pant at the top and in the ongoing series vs West Indies, Suryakumar Yadav has been doing well. Many experts feel that with T20 World Cup nearing, India needs to ensure they have a squad ready for the mega event.
